Gotta Be Like An Eagle

August 30th, 2007 by bigmachine47

Inspiration on the "7 Principles of an Eagle" - Author Dr. Myles Monroe

1.
Eagles fly alone at a high altitude and not with sparrows or mix with
other smaller birds. Birds of a feather flock together. No other bird
goes to the height of the eagle. Eagles fly with eagles. Never in a
flock. Even when Moses (Old Testament Bible) went to commune with God
on the mountain, he left the crowd at the foothills. Stay away from
sparrows and ravens. Eagles fly with eagles.

2. Eagles have
strong vision, which focuses up to 5 kilometers from the air. When an
eagle sites prey- even a rodent from this distance, he narrows his
focus on it and sets out to get it. No matter the obstacle, the eagle
will not move his focus from the prey until he grabs it. Have a vision
and remain focused no matter what the obstacle and you will succeed.

3.
Eagles do not eat dead things. He feeds on fresh prey. Vultures eat
dead animals but not eagles. Steer clear of outdated and old
information. Do your research well always.

4. The Eagle is the
only bird that loves the storm. When clouds gather, the eagles get
excited. The eagle uses the wings of the storm to rise and is pushed up
higher. Once it finds the wing of the storm, the eagle stops flapping
and uses the pressure of the raging storm to soar the clouds and glide.
This gives the eagle an opportunity to rest its wings. In the meantime
all the other birds hide in the leaves and branches of the trees. We
can use the storms of our lives (obstacles, trouble, etc) to rise to
greater heights. Achievers relish challenges and use them profitably.

5.
The Eagle tests before it trusts. When a female eagle meets a male and
they want to mate, she flies down to earth with the male pursing her
and she picks a twig. She flies back into the air with the male
pursuing her. Once she has reached a height high enough for her, she
lets the twig fall to the ground and watches it as it falls. The male
chases after the twig. The faster it falls, the faster he chases until
he reaches it and has to catch it before it falls to the ground, then
bring it back to the female eagle. The female eagle grabs the twig and
flies to a much higher altitude pursued by the male until she perceives
it high enough, and then drops the twig for the male to chase. This
goes on for hours, with the height increasing until the female eagle is
assured that the male eagle has mastered the art of picking the twig
which shows commitment, then and only then, will she allow him to mate
with her!
Whether in private life or in business, one should test commitment of people intended for partnership.

6.
Eagles prepare for training. When about to lay eggs, the female and
male eagle identify a place very high on a cliff where no predators can
reach; the male flies to earth and picks thorns and lays them on the
crevice of the cliff, then flies to earth again to collect twigs which
he lays in the intended nest. He flies back to earth picks thorns and
lays them on top of the twigs. He flies back to earth and picks soft
grass to cover the thorns, and then flies back to pick rugs to put on
the grass. When this first layering is complete the male eagle runs
back to earth and picks more thorns, lays them on the nest; runs back
to get grass and rugs and lays them on top of the thorns, then plucks
his feathers to complete the nest. The thorns on the outside of the
nest protect it from possible intruders. Both male and female eagles
participate in raising the eagle family. She lays the eggs and protects
them; he builds the nest and hunts. During the time of training the
young ones to fly, the mother eagle throws the eaglets out of the nest
and because they are scared, they jump into the nest again. Next, she
throws them out and then takes off the soft layers of the nest, leaving
the thorns bare. When the scared eaglets jump into the nest again, they
are pricked by thorns. Shrieking and bleeding they jump out again this
time wondering why the mother and father who love them so much are
torturing them. Next, mother eagle pushes them off the cliff into the
air. As they shriek in fear, father eagle flies out and picks them up
on his back before they fall, and brings them back to the cliff. This
goes on for sometime until they start flapping their wings. They get
excited at this newfound knowledge that they can fly and not fall at
such a fast rate. The father and mother eagle supports them with their
wings.

The preparation of the nest teaches us to prepare for changes;
The preparation for the family teaches us that active participation of both partners leads to success;
The
being pricked by the thorns tells us that sometimes being too
comfortable where we are may result into our not experiencing life, not
progressing and not learning at all. The thorns of life come to teach
us that we need to grow, get out of the nest and love on. We may not
know it but the seemingly comfortable and safe haven may have thorns;
The
people who love us do not let us languish in sloth but push us hard to
grow and prosper. Even in their seemingly bad actions they have good
intentions for us.

7. When the Eagle grows old, his feathers
become weak and cannot take him as fast as he should. When he feels
weak and about to die, he retires to a place far away in the rocks.
While there, he plucks out every feather on his body until he is
completely bare. He stays in this hiding place until he has grown new
feathers, then he can come out.

We occasionally need to shed off old habits & items that burden us without adding to our lives…

What I Really Want For My Birthday

August 21st, 2007 by bigmachine47

So my 31st birthday is coming soon. For my very 1st year after hitting the age of frustration… the 30s… i still get to taste life at it’s ups & downs. It wouldnt be that much of a frustration if  more of things have been going my way but even so, i still find myself getting more cynical & frustrated about most things. I am trying to get that sorted out befire i hit the middle ages though & i got t-minus 9 more years. Physically i find myself feeling tired more & my energy levels drain much faster now. I have to get into my system that i cant keep up with myself as much as i could a few years ago. I still am trying to work alot of things out & its is no great secret of mine to get a more regular routine of a schedule if possible - 1/2hr QT, 1/2hr practice guitar, 2 hours to train, 7 hours to sleep & 7 hours to work & 1 hour for me to read & research my stuff. That is something i would like to do everyday for a few years if i its sustainable.

Well but what i really want for my birthday besides the textbook answers of - Peace, Love Joy & goodwill to all men, women & children - are quite galatically impossible if you look at it. I have to be contented with what i have but still we should never cease to touch the sky because there is no limit. One of the things that gets me going is the phrase : Above Us Only Sky, a line taken from John Lennon’s "Imagine" so i try to strive for more improvement above nothing else. Life would always try to knock us off our block & really there are so many distractions. It’s a struggle & i cant help it sometimes but we just have pedal to the metal.

When my client asked me what i really wanted for my 31st birthday, without much thought i have to say (& no its not going to JB to zhng Mabel with a really cool bodykit, chrome rims & alot of other assortment of blings for the car), it would be tickets to watch Top Gear in their London studios & maybe get a chance to have a go at their track. A short trip to Anfield would be a nice addition. Statistics have shown that the average londoner spends 4 years of their lifetime in their car. Stats have also shown that the average motor-head would need to wait 19 years before getting tickets for the show.

On a more realistic note, what i really would like to see is to have my friends happy & to bring them together to chill out & know each other better doing the things that we all love that would bring alot of joy - & what better way than to have a football party at the Cage with a 6-a-side match between ourselves like in the nike advertisement where the 1st to 100 goals win along with lots of food & drinks. Of course, if i can skin a few players & score a bunch of goals & make the ball happy, i would be really chuffed.

Almost There

August 21st, 2007 by bigmachine47

Yes, im almost there… after finding the right time to tan & get
the correct amount of rays, im black now… almost the apunehneh color
im looking for, & with all the intense training & eating im
putting myself into… im 77kg in 3 weeks… almost reaching the 80kg i
hope to be by november. The dream is to be big, thick & ripped to
the bone at 85kg but its way too much to ask for… Well, its a goal
that i can see myself trying to hit. For now, its just a little more

Now
all i need to do is to maintain & build on my physical sucess…
Got to do more cardio too because there are a lot more games coming up
& i have to be able to maintain my speed. I still have dreams of
beating a player on the turn for pace & scoring a thunderous
screamer outside the box on a sixpence.

Very happy with my new
Sony Ericsson P1i smartphone/pda & no matter what people tell me
about the lagging of Symbian UIQ OS, i still love my phone. The only
sucky part is that i broke the stylus on the 2nd day of having it
because i sat on it. Crap… been dam accident prone these days. Now
onto getting more used to my phone & transferring all my files,
photos, videos, mp3s & ringtones into my phone.

Bamboo

August 14th, 2007 by bigmachine47

I had a rough time, still am & to be honest the thought of quitting ran across my mind. I then ran across this. Funny how things just pop out in front of you sometimes. I thank you all for the prayers. He heard you. For all those who doubted me, you aint seen nothing yet. Get ready for some butt-kissing.

Are you the fern, …or the bamboo?

One day I decided to quit…. I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality….. I wanted to quit my life. I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.

‘God’, I said. ‘Can you give me one good reason not to quit?’

His answer surprised me… ‘Look around’, He said. ‘Do you see the fern and the bamboo?’

‘Yes’, I replied.

‘When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them light. I gave them water. The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful. And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.’

He said. ‘In the third year, there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit. In the fourth year, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit.

He said. ‘Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant.

But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall. It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive. I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle.’

He said to me. ‘Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots. I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you. Don’t compare yourself to others.

He said. ‘The bamboo had a different purpose than the fern, yet, they both make the forest beautiful.’

‘Your time will come, ‘God said to me. ‘ You will rise high!’

‘How high should I rise?’ I asked.

‘How high will the bamboo rise?’ He asked in return. ‘As high as it can?’ I questioned.

‘Yes.’ He said, ‘Give Me glory by rising as high as you can.’ I left the forest and brought back this story. I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you……..

Never regret a day in your life.
Good days give you happiness.
Bad days give you experiences.
Both are essential to life.

Keep going…
Happiness keeps you sweet,
Trials keep you strong,
Sorrows keep you human,
Failures keep you humble,
Success keeps you glowing,
But only God keeps you going!

You Know You Are

August 14th, 2007 by bigmachine47

Well, you know you are fat & ugly… & you choose to be into aesthetics…  going for looks & into bodybuilders who cant train to save their lives. Fancy calling this sensible consideration? Buying a Bentley Continental GT & putting money into materialistics without thought but yet calling my rates expensive & considering my fees exhorbitant.

You know you are fat & ugly when you were having problems around & i took time to be there for you, especially going out of my way to bring you to the Suzuki showroom to fix your car. You know you still are & no amount of self pity would be able haul yourself out unless you are willing to look beyond yourself. No amount of photoshopping your photos would be able to change your mindset.

You have been warned. Stop thinking the world revolves around you. I have much better things to do with my time

Word Shaped

August 13th, 2007 by bigmachine47

We are spiritual beings, emotional & with feelings. Sometimes we cant help but feel hurt because of the double-edged. I know i am hurt by what some people say… i guess its one of the ways in the grand shceme of things to shape me. But i still hate it, especially when it comes from someone who doesnt know me.

Our souls are word-shaped. Our relationships to others and also to ourselves) are shaped by some "word" or other, some idea or philosophy of what it means to be a person. From the moment we begin our education a variety of "words" are pumped into us about who we are & how to find our identity in this world, and whatever "word" we accept, that becomes the moulding influence which determines how we view ourselves & others. - Robert C. Roberts in Taking The Word To Heart

You Really Think So?

August 13th, 2007 by bigmachine47

I am no culinary expert but i can cook pretty well too… wonder why no interest in trying out my cooking… I can play the guitar & start seranading but singing is not really my thing. I have to face facts. You just didnt really bother to want to taste & see. Too bad so sad for you… guess we will never know. I hate it still when people dont know me & just make a awful judgement on me…. super bitter, chip on my shoulder indeed. The butt’s still nice but it aint white no more.

Guess it would be the kind of do unto others but lay off doing unto thyself. I dont believe in censorship & you are entitled to your opinion but i guess you dont see things the same way

Me Myself I

July 30th, 2007 by bigmachine47

Get to know yourself better - http://www.quizbox.com/personality/test82.aspx

Your view on yourself:

You are down-to-earth and people like you because you
are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you
will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that
usually appeals to both parties.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:

You are a true romantic. When you are in love, you will do anything and everything to keep your love true.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:

You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right
person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might
that person.

The seriousness of your love:

You like to flirt and behave seductively. The
opposite sex finds this very attractive, and that’s why you’ll always
have admirers hanging off your arms. But how serious are you about
choosing someone to be in a relationship with?

Your views on education

You may not like to study but you have many practical
ideas. You listen to your own instincts and tend to follow your heart,
so you will probably end up with an unusual job.

The right job for you:

You have plenty of dream jobs but have little chance
of doing any of them if you don’t focus on something in particular. You
need to choose something and go for it to be happy and achieve success.

How do you view success:

You are confident that you will be successful in your chosen career and nothing will stop you from trying.

What are you most afraid of:

You are afraid of things that you cannot control. Sometimes you show your anger to cover up how you feel.

Who is your true self:

You are full of energy and confidence. You are
unpredictable, with moods changing as quickly as an ocean. You might
occasionally be calm and still, but never for long.
